Sales Tie-up of Mass Spectrometer

Hiroshima -- A spin-off company of Hiroshima University called HUMANIX (Minami-ku, Hiroshima City, President: Prof. Tsutomu Masujima, 082-251-5302) will conclude a sales agreement of protein mass analyzers developed by CovalX, a venture company born from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, to distribute them in the Japanese market. This international alliance between a venture of a Japanese university and a venture of a Swiss university will attract the attention of academia.

HUMANIX will distribute the products of CovalX including protein mass analyzing devices that are sold in the international market. CovalX was established Dr. Alexis Nazabal, Dr. Ryan Wenzel and Dr. Urs Matter.

The signing ceremony will be held at the Hiroshima prefectural government on March 13, when Dr. Alexis Nazabal, CEO of CovalX, visits Japan.

HUMANIX is a company that develops and sells bioanalyzers using the findings from Hiroshima University. HUMANIX has also business alliances with other Swiss companies.

Hiroshima University is promoting international collaborations with research institutes and venture companies in Switzerland to develop new analytical instruments through the international collaboration program with Swiss industry and academia. This business agreeement is one of such activities.
