Abstract

This disclosure relates to the field of molecular biology. Provided are novel compositions and methods for mitigating undesirable agronomic characteristics of certain transgenic proteins, including insecticidal proteins, when expressed in transgenic plants. Also provided are novel compositions and methods for increasing protein expression levels in transgenic plants. Further provided are novel genes that encode pesticidal proteins. These pesticidal proteins and the nucleic acid sequences that encode them are useful in preparing pesticidal formulations and in the production of transgenic pest-resistant plants. Engineered peptides and chimeric fusion polypeptides, and methods of producing and using the same, are also contemplated.
