Abstract
The invention provides antibodies that specifically bind tau. The antibodies inhibit or delay tau-associated pathologies and associated symptomatic deterioration.

Outcomes
Crosslinking High-Mass MALDI mass spectrometry was used to access whether Mouse 3D6 binds a single or multiple soluble tau aggregates. At first, tau aggregates were made using an incubation process, then 3D6 was mixed with various ratios of soluble tau aggregates. These individual elements (control experiment) and mixtures were detected using high mass MALDI MS modified with CovalX’s HM4 high mass detection system to detect mass ranges up to 2000 kDa. Data for the controlled experiment showed that both tau and 3D6 were detected as 40.93 kDa and 146.938 kDa respectively. In the crosslinked experiment, the 3D6 peak disappears while new peaks at 194.788 kDa and 228.963 kDa appears indicating 3D6 interaction with one and two antigens respectively.
