CovalX Complex Tracker Software
When analyzing protein interactions in a complex protein mixture, the complexity of the data generated can require software for accurate identification. There is no need to change your acquisition software as CovalX’s complex tracker imports files from any standard MALDI ToF instrument, including Bruker, Shimadzu and ABI Sciex file formats. After import, data are managed as projects to statistically evaluate the presence of non-covalent complexes.
With the project manager, a large number of paired (control/cross-link) spectra can be analyzed on the same screen. The complex detection evaluation tool statistically calculates the presence of a specific complex. It does this by reliably importing data files and processing them using filters and baseline correction. Then the processed data files can be mass calibrated for comparison and overlay purposes. Next, the overlaid spectra can be subtracted to visualize any peak differences due to protein complexes in the samples analyzed. Finally, protein complex detection is determined based on mass or protein name assignments given. Each of these steps can be done manually, or automatically with the click of one button. This process can also be used to automate multiple protein complex analysis at the click of a button within one project file.
